Trop Early Move-in Program and Orientation (TEMPO)
Trop Early Move-In Program and Orientation (TEMPO) starts Tuesday September 19, 2023 for UCSB students. TEMPO is an orientation program that covers important topics concerning incoming freshmen, including healthy eating, dealing with relationships, touring the campus, picking up their books, finding their classes, field trips around the city and getting to know 50+ other new Trop students.
TEMPO registration will open in early spring.

Standard Move-In
Standard Move-in for UCSB students for the 2023-2024 academic school year will begin at 9:00am on Sunday, September 24, 2023 for Fall Quarter.
Can I move in early?
Parking
Parking is not included in your contract, as many students choose to use alternative forms of transportation. Parking is a one time cost for the year, and are assigned spaces. All spots are assigned based on a first come, first served basis. Pricing for parking will be available in early spring.

Once your contract has been confirmed complete by Tropicana you will be able to apply for TEMPO, Early Move-In and Parking. To apply for any of these options please login to your MyTropAccount and select the link for the program you want to apply for.
What to Bring
Besides your clothes and books, things that you should bring are sheets (extra long twin), blankets, pillows, pillowcases, bedspread, bath towels, toilet paper, laundry soap, alarm clock, computer, beach towel, bicycle, bike lock, non-halogen study lamp, and toiletries. All rooms have blinds on the windows.
Where Can I buy Stuff?
Located on Storke Road, Camino Real Marketplace and Target is your best bet for all basic shopping needs. Camino Real Marketplace includes Home Depot, Staples, Costco, Best Buy, Home Goods, and Ross. Across from Camino Real Marketplace is Target. Both of these shopping areas can be found by going west on El Colegio and turning right onto Storke Road; it will be located a few blocks down on your left and right hand side.
